Oh Mexico. If there was one element I could take back and fold into Sydney it would the those amazingly vibrant colours - walking down streets littered with pink, green, blue, and yellow homes just puts a spring in your step.
My two favourite spots out of our adventures were easily Sayulita and Oaxaca. Sayulita is a sleepy fishing village where we spent most of our time overlooking the the beach at dawn and dusk with the beach with fresh fruit and beer, paddle-boarding, attempting to surf, and devouring every delicious taco we could lay our hands on. Oaxaca de Juárez is a stunningly picturesque colonial city in the mountains, and I witnessed first hand the locals overwhelming kindness when our lovely hosts insisted on cooking all my meals for the week after I unfortunately arrived with some intense food poisoning in tow. The town and its surrounds are littered with remnants of the native Zapotec culture, and the ruins of Monte Alban is truly a heavenly sight. While in Mexico I've amassed a list of recommendations and tips for anyone out there planning their own adventure in Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, Mexico City, Oaxaca, or Tulum (send me an email!).
