Grizzly Bear, Veckatimist 2009
Oh man. This album opened the doorway to the quiet delight of Grizzly Bear, and for that I will ever be thankful. All of Grizzly Bear's musical offerings are filled with ethereal orchestrations and choral harmonies that rival Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and leave a haunting impression that weaves its way through the rest of your day. I've been lucky to see Grizzly Bear a number of times and each time they are better than the last. Most memorably, from only metres away on the side of the stage after watching a hail storm roll in and away at Harvest Festival with Ed Droste; and most recently, in the perfect setting of the Sydney Opera House, hanging on each and every note in the still and silent theatre.
Record Reverie is a watercolour illustration series of my favourite albums. Look at more illustrations from the series here.
