Stevie Wonder, Innervisions 1973
This album was released more than 40 years ago, but it just have easily could have been made today such are the relevance of the weight issues throughout the album. I usually have to limit the amount of sombre tunes I digest in one sitting (looking at you Radiohead) as I am so easily affected by the tone and content that it can drastically change my mood - but the combination of the dreamy vocals and upbeat notes in Innervisions leaves me with a perfect balance of sadness and hope.
