The Rolling Stones, Let It Bleed 1969
Don't get me wrong, I love this album, but man do I love the album artwork. The wonderfully surreal cover was designed by Robert Brownjohn (who coincidentally was a former protege of László Moholy-Nagy) and is currently in the Museum of Modern Art Collection. As with any Rolling Stones album most all of the tracks are magnificent - but it is 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and 'Gimme Shelter' that will rattle around in your brain for days, the latter particularly so if you've heard the behind the scenes story via Mary Clayton in 10 Feet From Stardom.
Record Reverie is a watercolour illustration series of my favourite albums. Look at more illustrations from the series here.
